Four Steps to a Running a Successful Work at Home Business

By Lesley Jackson

As a successful internet marketer, I have identified four key elements to any online work at home opportunity.

DESIRE. Know exactly what you want to accomplish, by when you wish to accomplish your goal, measurable steps that you can attain to reach your ultimate goal. Establish a support system for yourself. Set aside an amount of quiet time at home. Post a representation of your goal in your home office (e.g., a picture of a Hummer).

OBJECTIVITY. I am a firm believer in learning from someone else's mistakes. However, that does not mean that you should take your sponsor's word for everything you try to do. Ask questions about why your sponsor believes a particular method is better than another. Everyone is different, and you may have skills your sponsor does not have. So listen to someone you respect as your sponsor, but listen objectively keeping in mind your own talents and experiences.

TRAFFIC. An online business without traffic is simply a website. You must constantly fish for traffic for your online work at home business. If you are new to internet marketing, you will get better at getting qualified traffic over time. If you are a veteran, you are trying to keep a steady stream of qualified traffic coming your way.

TRAINING. This will be a constant effort. I have wasted countless hours training without tending to the business of getting actual prospects. Traffic and training go hand in hand. If you are new to internet marketing, you will earn while you learn. If you are a veteran, it will take you less time, but your objective is to keep current with the latest tactics, which may be more effective than your current efforts.

Regardless of your personal goal, situation, and investment, the important thing to remember is that you can successfully work at home online. So jump right in and enjoy your success as I am enjoying mine.
